try using similar triangles to form a ratio

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what jahtoday said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I will do that. I just noticed they were similar. thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i tried but I cant figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which triangles did u use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

triangleLMQ and triangle QMN

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will try LMT and LMQ

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean RMT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when u try similar triangles u should try to use 1s that u have info 4. infact everything to the right of the line MQ is superflous cuz u dont kno much about it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok RMT and LMQ are the right triangles so ur good so far

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i got 14.4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then i got 1.6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u show ur work? what we are trying to do is first find MT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 6.4 and its a!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i accidentally did 18 instead of 12 in the proportion. thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did 12/20 = x/16 then cross multiplied and divided

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but before i did 18/20 = x/16 so it was wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oo ok careful with ur numbers then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i was doing it on paper and the 12 somehow looked like 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 & 8??? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know lol
