Three friends visit a restaurant for dinner. Their total bill comes to Rs 300 and each man pays Rs 100 to the waiter. Then, the restaurant owner notices that he has included one dish extra and asks the waiter to return Rs 50 to the men. Since Rs 50 cannot be equally divided among the three men, the waiter pockets Rs 20 and returns Rs 10 to each man. At this point, each man has paid Rs 90 (which totals Rs 270) and the waiter has Rs 20. This totals Rs 290. Where did the remaining Rs 10 go?

Hey it's trick question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the total amount is 250 reducing 50 from 300 now when u pay waiter 20 the amount becomes 230 ....then this is the amount payed by the three ... its still not divisible by 3 . but the thing is your question is wrong

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

the remaining 10 is split between the 3 men see the total bill changes from 300 to 250 to 270 so the net result is each one pays 90, part of it going to tip for waitor

Well technically the men paid 83.3333 for their meal. They just don't know that they got a thief for a waiter. owner 250 each customer 10=30 thief 20 250+30+20=300

oh yeah sorry the total amnt is 280 sry lol miscalculated ..it sorry ..as 30 is returned
