how do i solve r^2-10r+24=0 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor it then solve for "r" out of the 2 binomials

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, im still confussed tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you factor it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

quadratic formula would be easiest http://www.purplemath.com/modules/quadform.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know what that is .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wouldn't use the quadratic here but it will do the trick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(r-12)(r+2) so if we set them to 0 we get r-12=0 and r+2=0 then solve for r

Quadratic is straight forward and will always give you the answer. Learn to use it before learning more complex methods.
