Let x = amount of water to be added 100-x = amount of orignal solution .5(100-x)=.1x 50-.5x=.1x -.6x=-50 x=83 liters of water
Actually 83 1/3 liters of water would be added to the 16 2/3 liters of the 50 % solution.
