How do you simplify this expression? xyz / (xy + yz + xz)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't think it get more simpler ....though i can make it more complicated in a simpler manner lol 1 -------------------------------- 1 1 1 - + - + - z y x I really cant get it simpler ... lol xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 over 1/z +1/x + 1/y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But how do you get that answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Turn it up side down and divide through. When finished turn it back again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ie the reciprocal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it like you factored xyz out of xy + yz + xz?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In a way but all we are really doing is rewriting your expression in a different form. U might or might not regard this form as being "simpler" (I think it would depend on what u were going to do with the equation next).

ok thanks :)
