That's the most simple expression you can get for "-3". Or maybe I didn't understood what you were trying to say or you wrote the excercise wrong?

This is one that I worked yesterday, but today the 'thinker" is not thinking to well.

I belive the answer you already got is correct. The reason that you had to work the problem you did yesterday that way is because they weren't perfect squares and the values you are useing today are.
