The upper right-hand corner of a piece of paper, 15 in. by 10 in., as in the figure, is folded over to the bottom edge. How would you fold it so as to minimize the length of the fold? In other words, how would you choose x to minimize y?

minimize y, or minimize the distance between f(0) and f(10). . . ?

Seems too easy, but the shortest length of fold would be if you fold it directly down to the bottom right hand corner
