What does infinity plus four mean? how can four add to infinity?!
is there a problem attached to this question?
no... walked by a math room and heard it.
then it could mean a billion things
THey were talking about matching up sets of infinity or something
infinity plus four is infinity
But there's got 2 be another reason! I spent about 3 months wondering what that meant!
\[\infty+4=\infty\]
:(
Any infinite set, such as the set of positive integers, is still infinite in size after adding 4.
I thought that there was some secret cool math thing to it or something
Not that infinity isn't cool
Two infinite sets are said to be the same size if you can match up all the members of those sets with a one to one correspondence without leaving any members out of either set
how did you do the sideways eight thing
Well, what if you do leave members out? Or don't match it up 1 to 1?
the sets could still match, perhaps as ordered pairs
Just because you have one less number in one of these infinite sets doesn't mean you can't match them up one to one, it just means each number from the first set will always be matched up with a number one larger.
