Similar nerve supply. tooth and meninges are supplied by trigeminal nerve(fifth cranial nerve) . So toothache will cause referred pain in head.

the trigeminal nerve innervates a very large distribution of your head, ie the forehead, face, and jaw.  if your tooth is hurting in your jaw area, the branch of that trigeminal nerve can irritate it's other branches that supply the face or forehead, which feels like a headache.
