if i bought a toaster for 60$ and the the toaster was was 1/4 off the original price, what was the original price?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you paid 3/4 of the price so solve \[\frac{3}{4}x=60\] for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

via \[x=60\times \frac{4}{3}=20\times 4=80\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that seems high for 1/4 off 60$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

who pays $60 for a toaster?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol kno one rele......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it does not say 1/4 off of 60. it says 60 was 1/4 less than original price. check is easy. original price is 80 one quarter of 80 is 20 80-20= 60
