there are 3 parts to most percentage problems; a total or whole amount; a part of that total; and a percentage number.
when we know any 2 elements we can find the third by using the formula:
part = % times whole

hey amis can you please help me when you are done here
OpenStudy (amistre64):
since they give a total(45) and a part(33.75) and are asking for percent; we can solve the formula above for %
part
---- = % ; well, a decimal version of % that is; multiply it by
total 100 to get a normal % format
