What is the rule on when to change the signs in inequality problems??!

when you are dividing each side by a negative number, you switch the sign. which makes sense because if you have -1<1 and then divide by -1 to get 1<-1 that doesn't make sense, and you would have to flip the sign to make it a true statement.
