myininaya (myininaya):

http://openstudy.com/groups/mathematics#/groups/mathematics/updates/4e29de490b8b3d38d3b98ee3 --------- go here i was wondering do you think the way i mentioned his really confusing do you think i should the "normal" way?

myininaya (myininaya):

i like this way :)

OpenStudy (zarkon):

there is nothing wrong with doing it this way, but for students that are not good at algebra I'd say stick with long division.

myininaya (myininaya):

ok lol dang!

OpenStudy (zarkon):

Long division is very formulaic and for some students that is what they need

myininaya (myininaya):

i guess your right it is hard for them to add zeros in

OpenStudy (zarkon):

I like doing it the way you did sometimes. For some problems it is much quicker.

myininaya (myininaya):

like \[\frac{x^2}{x^2-1}=\frac{x^2-1+1}{x^2-1}=\frac{x^2-1}{x^2-1}+\frac{1}{x^2-1}\]

OpenStudy (zarkon):

yes

OpenStudy (zarkon):

I also feel it is a nicer looking solution

myininaya (myininaya):

yes

myininaya (myininaya):

thanks for your opinion

myininaya (myininaya):

they complain about long division but i guess what i have can be much worse for them lol

OpenStudy (zarkon):

probably
