One to one functions are functions that you can graph and the x values don't repeat and the y values don't repeat. 

Being as this is a function that is squared, we know you'll get the same out put when x=2 and when x= -2, because the squaring to the second power eliminates the negative. 

So basically anything squared is not one to one

Basically if you run a horizontal or vertical line through the graph and it intesects at more than one point then it's not one-to-one.
