f(x)=-2x^2+2x+7 f(1/2)=15/2 is a minimum or maximum? What does the graph look like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you not graph it?

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

What does the graph look like? The \(x^2\) term tells us it's a parabola. Because the \(x^2\) is negative, that means the parabola opens down. As for the roots of this function, have you tried the quadratic formula? Also -- is this from a calculus class? You can take the derivative and determine min/max instead of using the vertex formula.
