What kind of OS is Centos....??? can we use it in a desktop...?? any download links pls...

Have you tried looking at www.centos.org where they explain what Centos is, and they have a download tab for it as well. Although, the Centos website isn't detailed on description, so here is more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CentOS

Its is a linux distro for desktop or server use. Many modern servers use it, and it is a cheep alternative desktop os to many paid alternatives, like mac and windows.

Centos is opensource! Like Ronnoceel stated it is deployed on servers and is very cheap, free. Like all opensource software Centos' source-code can be view and modified. However if one is looking into getting into Linux Ubuntu is in my opinion probably the easiest to learn.
