Find the area of triangle PQR for points P(0,0), Q(8,0), R(6,10). is there a quick way to solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the determinant formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no need to make a diagram

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first mark the vertices on a graph sheet and then as R =(6,10) so wen u mark them u ll see tat 10 units is the height of the triangle and as Q =(8,0) so u ll see tat PQ is the base of the triangle i.e. 8 units . so the area will be 1/2 * 8 * 10 = 40 units as area of a triangle = 1/2 * base * height hope u understood it properly
