Solve for x to the nearest degree. Answer 56 degrees 34 degrees 50 degrees 40 degrees
do you know SOH CAH TOA?
no
id explain but i suggest you google it real fast it will help a LOT with trig
it is about trignometry dear chirs parks!!!
you are given the opposite side and hypotenuse so you need SOH sine = opp/hypot
ok you guys my google is messing uhp can someone explain this to me
sin x = opposite/hypotenuse cosx= adjacent/hypotenuse tanx= opposite/ adjacent here u hav the angle x and u hav the hypotenuse and the opposite side of the angle, so u write sin x= opposite/hypotenuse =15/18=5/6 so sin inverse of (5/6) = 56.44 so x= 56.44
SOH CAH TOA is an aid to memory sine = opposite side /hypotenuse cosine = adjacent/ hypotenuse tangent = opposite / adjacent hypotenuse = longest (slanting) side opposite = side opposite the angle you are considering adjacent = other side ( the side the angle is 'sitting' on) (these rules are only true for a right-angled triangle)
thnk you because i have never heard of that before
its very handy - sounds a bit like hawaain
use wolframalpha.com to solve pretty much any math issue. heres the section on trig: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=trig Also the answer is: 56.442690238079284707119200844376
in your problem opposite side (O) = 15 and hypotenuse (H)= 18 so you have OH - so you use the sine sine x = 15/18 so x is the angles whose sine is 15/18 (or 0.83333..) if you haVE A SCIENTIFIC calculator press sin-1 followed by 0.83333 and it will g deliver the value of angle x
