anybody like factoring trinomials? 42a^2 - 29ab - 5b^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

42a^2-35ab+6ab-5b^2 Now proceed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

roshan, how do i know to do that because once you give me that i can finish it myself so how do i get to that point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Allright just see the numbers 42 and 5 . Their product will give you 210 so just try to find any two numbers whose product is 210 and difference is 29. So the two numbers are 35 and 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause now I have (6a-5b)(7a+b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeap, u r right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my textbook and my teacher tried to show me that I guess I get aggrivated in the trial and error part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just use my method and u will be fine, nothing to worry about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well now I'm on to word problems, that REALLY throw me off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nah, u will be fine. Even I used to be scared of those
