What is the difference between xylem and phloem?
Xylem is a plant tissue which conducts water from the roots to different parts of the plant and Phloem is a plant tissue which conducts food from the leaves to different parts of the plant .
Both xylem and phloem are vascular tissues. Xylem is a tubular structure which is responsible for water transport from the roots towards all of the parts of the plant. Phloem is also a tubular structure but is responsible for the transportation of food and other nutrients needed by plant. Xylem exists as non-living tissue at maturity, but phloem is living cells. for detailed analysis, you can visit the site: http://www.diffen.com/difference/Phloem_vs_Xylem
Xylem goes up (Skylem is an easy way to remember) Phloem goes down
