what is the difference between history and social studies? is there any difference at all?
As far as I know both names mean the same thing. Last year my class was called "Social Studies" however we studied American history. This year my class was called History but we still studied World History. In both classes we studied only history. So to make a long story short they are the same. Hope that answered your question :)
Social studies includes many more subjects other than history.
I guess Social Studies could include more subjects than just history, but from my experiences I've just studied history in my Social Studies classes.
History is "the stuff that happened;" social studies is studying what happened, why, how, what that means, how what happened there then affects what's happening here now, how other factors (geography, economy, population, etc.) affect the stuff that happens; cause and effect, etc.
history is the past and includes wars and battles but social studies has some science in it mostly about the earth
