Write the equation of the line that contains the points (2, 2) and (-3, 12). Here is part of the answer. Can you identify the missing part? y = -2x + ? i need to know what the number in the question mark

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plug in one of your ordered pairs for x and y in the equation you gave.. Solve for ""?" or b 2=-2(2)+b solve for b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how? o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no b in the eqaution i gave you i just need to find a number the missing part i guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You gave a "?" which I replaced with b... If you recall the equation for a line is y=mx+b; where x and y are given by your ordered pairs and m=-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhhh thanks but can you give me the answer? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should be able to solve for b with what I gave you.. It is not that hard.. I think you may just be being lazy :P
