|3x - 2| < 7 i need an answer and explanation HELP!?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok well when you have inequalities with absolute values it helps to remember this rule: \[|a| < b \implies -b < a < b\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So now apply that rule to your problem and what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont even no what that means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In english then: IF the absolute value of a is less than b, THEN a is between -b and b.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i just need the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So in your case, a is 3x-2 and b is 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so in the problem, a =3x-2 and b=7 -7<3x-2<7

Sorry, I don't give answers. I give help.
