in a quadratic function of y=ax² how would i graph y=-3x²

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a sharper downward "u"

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

first notice its negative, so the parabola opens down next notice there are no shifts up/down, left/right so the vertex is on the origin (0,0) then plot some points x=1 or x=-1, y = -3 x = 2 or x = -2, y = -12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly like this: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=+y%3D-3x%C2%B2+

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i make it into a table ( y=-3x² )

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

like x y 0 0 1 -3 2 -12 3 -27
