x^2-7x-7x+49 x(x-7)-7(x-7) (x-7)(x-7) = 0 Because it has one solution, it cannot have two roots or repeated roots, it simply has one solution.

Reason I am asking this is because seems to be a confusion about this and looking around I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I quite like 5 or else 7. Someone know of a definitive source?
