find the surface area to the nearest tenth of a cylinder whose base has a diameter of 6in and whose height is 12in. use 3.14 for pi. surface area =2 pi r squared + pi d x h thnx and plz giv me explanations on how to do it it (show work)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

surface area has to do with all the outer stuff; on a cylinder that is usually the area of the top and bottom circles plus the area of the sides

but if you doo all the work would the answer be 282.6 in squared

OpenStudy (amistre64):

might be, I aint got my handy dandy calc with me :) but google gives me this: sa = 2(3.14)(3^2) + (3.14)(6)(12) = 282.6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and surface area is measured in units squared
