what's the gcf of 2x^3+12x^2+7x+42

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

OpenStudy (unknown):

so there is none?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the GCF is 1

OpenStudy (unknown):

okay i can't copy and past the problem. so but it says:

OpenStudy (unknown):

use the grouping method to factor the polynomial below.

OpenStudy (unknown):

then that was the problem... and idk what to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u mean the above question that u had put to us??

OpenStudy (unknown):

wait im sorry what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^3+12x^2+7x+42 ----------- ------ group1 group2 you treat them as two groups, the first one consisting of the first two terms and the second one consisting of the last two terms then you take out common terms from the first two and the common terms from the last two as follows 2x^3+12x^2+7x+42 2x²(x + 6) +7(x + 6) now you see both products have (x + 6) common, so take it out and the final answer is (x + 6)(2x² + 7) these are the two factors...

OpenStudy (unknown):

ahhaa i see ! that meks much more sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that what u wanted????

OpenStudy (unknown):

yessir

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u r satisfied, pls click GOOD ANSWER button for me....☺☻

OpenStudy (unknown):

now i have a few more if you don't mind.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

post them separately and ill come to them....

OpenStudy (unknown):

okay

OpenStudy (unknown):

same directions as before. x^3+2x^2+4x+8

OpenStudy (unknown):

it's like w test thing so i can't put them all like together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x²(x + 2) +4(x + 2) (x + 2) ( x² + 4) once you get the terms in the bracket for first two terms, then write the same thing in the bracket for last two terms and then see what you have to put outside the second bracket....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess if u r giving an online test, then this help amounts to cheating.....:)

OpenStudy (unknown):

haha shh. help is allowed. i'm in need to pass

OpenStudy (unknown):

14x^5+6x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^3(7x^2 + 3)

OpenStudy (unknown):

this one is asking what's the gcf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

GCF is 2x^3

OpenStudy (unknown):

alright. 2x^4+8x^3+18x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

GCF is 2x

OpenStudy (unknown):

so its 2x(x^3+4x^2+6)

OpenStudy (unknown):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is 2x(x^3+4x^2+9)

OpenStudy (unknown):

6x^5+36x^2+24x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x(x^4 + 6x + 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

next question put as a new post so that i can get medal....☺

OpenStudy (unknown):

what do you mean new post?
