Who advised Lincoln about the Civil War?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'de say that the Secretary of War; Gideon Welles & his constitutional advisers (William H. Seward & Salmon P. Chase). But i'm just guessing, confirm it with a historian. :-)

^^ yes this is true but alot of the reason for the civil war came over becuase of the slavery that was going on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, that is true but it was, however, the South's decision to fire the fort, which started the Civil War.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slavery was not the issue that started the Civil War. Lincoln didnt give a hoot whether slaves were free or not as long as his precious union prevailed, FACT!
