Solve the systems of equations 4x+2y=10 y= x^2-10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please check my answers. I got y= -25 and -x^2 = 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

{{x -> -5, y -> 15}, {x -> 3, y -> -1}}

I came up with (3,-1), have you learned about substitution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really, I am just trying to see what I know before registering for classes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That 4x+2y=10 would turn into 4x+2(x^2-10)=10 and from there you would solve for x, then once you find out what x equals, you would plug that into an equation and solve for y

Mmm okay. Thanks!
