Simplify 3x² - x(2x+y) + xy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x² - x(2x+y) + xy <-- original question \[3x ^{2} - 2x ^{2} - xy + xy\] I distributed -x to both 2x and y \[x ^{2} \] subtracted 3 xsquared with 2 xsquared since they have the same base -xy and xy cancels out. and... that's it!
