What are the factors of the polynomial below? x^2 + 8x - 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the following makes no sense to u, say... For quadratic of form x^2 + bx + c , u can try to find 2 numbers p and q that add up to b (8 in this case) and multiply together to give c (-20 in this case). Then the factors are (x+p)(x+q). Often works with made up problems, else use quadratic formula.

(x + 10)(x - 2) Is that the answer? If you know.

Add up to 8 and multiply to -20. Looks good to me:-)
