Please help! Points A and B are the foci of a conic section. Two points on the conic section, C and D, have distances to the foci A and B as shown. --- CA=5 --- CB=10 --- DA=8 In order for the points C and D to be on the same ellipse, the distance would have to equal what?
I'm not sure why you re-post for other people.

Only because it was a re-post and I wanted to tell you to not re-post ;p
Creepy, don't get snarky.
look how many people are visiting....ONE of them has to know the answer. And if they give it. I will have helped someone. Sorry if I was being rude :(
Sorry. I didn't take offense. I just think that mathsux can be patient. Her question is very specific. I don't know the answer off the top of my head, I'd have to look up some details about elipses. etc. The reason her post wasn't answered yet was because it is difficult, not because it wasn't seen.
I see. I just have noticed a lot of peoples questions just..not being noticed!! And they don't get answered! Sorry ^_^
