What is charge?
i guess u r talking about electric charge.... Electric charge is a fundamental physical property of matter. This property causes it to experience a force when in the vicinity of other electrically charged matter. Electric charge is of two types - positive and negative. Two positively charged substances/objects experience a mutual repulsive force, as do two negatively charged substances/objects. However, a positively charged object and a negatively charged object experience a force of attraction. The SI unit of electric charge is the coulomb (C).
the charge is a characteristic of any body, is a scalar quatity and depend of the numbers of electrons that was removed from the particle, the charge can be positive, negative or zero. the unit of electric charge in SI is Coulomb, but this is high in the practie we use micro or nano!!!
Modern physics doesn't really know what charge is, i.e. what causes it (just like we don't know what causes a particle to have mass). Particles just have a physical property called "charge". The physical effect that this property has on particles can be measured only via their interaction with each other.
