i want to add global keyboard shortcuts for volume and rewind/pause/fforward (in itunes) like in mac os. I have windows 7 ultimate. How would I do that? I also want to add a shortcut to open up the cmd prompt.

As far as I know, you'll need a third party software to modify/add shortcuts to your keyboard or perhaps edit some registry keys but I wouldn't do that if I were you. The other solution is to make a script with AutoIt for exemple.
The fastest way to access the Command Prompt is [WIN + R] (Windows logo) then type in cmd.
