What is a paradox ? please give an example of it

A paradox is when the logic of a situation is seemly correct, but that it leads to contradictory outcomes.  One of teh most famous is teh grandfather paradox in time-travel  If I were to go back in time, and kill my grandfather before he sired my father, then I would never be born.  if this were the case, then I could never go back in time to kill him, and so I would be born.  meaning i could go back in time and kill him....etc.

Usually paradoxes occur because we lack a full understanding of the problem in hand.  Other examples include the Einstein Rosen Podolsky paradox, and the twin paradox of special relativity.  Both of which are only paradoxs because of a lack of understanding of the finer details of the phenomena.

A simple paradox is that in the plane mirror left of the object appears as the right of the image i.e lateral inversion take place. 

But the same does not happen to the head and foot !!!!
