cant help you there im afraid, as im not a chemist. I do hear though taht Physical Chemistry is a good undergraduate text that explains the thermodynamics of chemical reactions rather well.

Cengel – Thermodynamics has a Engineering point of view, but the fundamental concepts are the same, and is one of the best technical books I have ever read.
