'Les Choristes' (The Chorus) any good?

OpenStudy (anonymous123):

yeah! amazin film! :D especially for people that luv french!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Definitely a good film! I really enjoyed it. I was able to understand more French.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is it about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its difficult to summarise, but in a few words: Choir, boarding school, life changing for the better. Heres the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chorus_(2004_film) That'll explain it better than I could. Its a really interesting film. I did cry, but that was probably just me.

Thanks. I think I may have to see it.

I definitely reccomend it. I'm trying to watch French films to help with pronunciation ans speaking and this is a good movie for it because they sing.

Thanks to all of you that replied. I must definitely purchase it! I just wanted to see what students thought of it, in case i was just wasting my time & money buying it. I WAS a french student, so did you feel as though the french was easy to understand, or is it better if I just stick to subtitles, lol?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtitles are good, but after a while, I find, you become dependant on them and are watching the movie just with an explanation. You can pick up enough French to figure out what is happening, if your a student like me, it enabled me to pick up new repeated words and try and translate some of their conversations. Definitely a good movie to start with for students, and there is another French movie that I was shown in class called "Avoir et etre" which is a documentary on the school life of a country school in France. It was really interesting because there is one techer teaching a whole room of kids up to the end of Primary school ages. Being entirely in French, I could pick up quite a bit as it was 'children speak' -the same level as we were learning at the time. (and it was classsroom vocab.)

Oh, i see. Thanks for all your suggestions & help. I've put my order in for the film- i'll update once i've watched it. Thanks again! :-)
