t is said that one codon is made for specific amino acid then why GUG form methionine when it is in the starting of protien syntheis and if it is found in between then it forms valine.. it means it is wrong because AUG GUG form same protien

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i think your asking why more than one codon can be the same amino acid? There are 4 possible bases in 3 spots in the codon, so 4x4x4 = 64 possible combinations but only 20 amino acids (naturally occuring).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that i know but it is said that specific codon are made a specific protien but dis statement becomes wrong as we go in detail

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey miss, i beleive i can answer your inquiry but you have to be absolute in the intentional meaning of your question....and for the record, am sure it was careless mistake but i dnt think AUG AND GUG FORM THE SAME AMINO ACID(NOT SAME PROTEIN, YOU MADE THAT MISTAKE)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know its my mistake by mistake i have wrote protien instead of amino acid..... i m srry 4 dat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i got my answer AUG form methionine and its a xcptn that GUG when found in the first it forms methionine in the protien synthesis and dis xcptn is still nt cleared
