Supose an amoeba divids into two amoebas one every hour.How long would it take for a single amoeba to become acolony of 4096 amoebas? the key is 12 hours

so we start with one amoeba, then in 1 hour we have 2, 2 hours we have 4, so on and so forth. The sequence representing this is: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16,.... The formula representing this is: \[2^{t}\] where t is the number of hours that have passed. so basically we want to know when: \[2^t = 4096\]
