Im confused. Isn't it going to be 8 minutes. The second runner(8) isn't going to gain speed from the first runner.(6)

The first runner completes a lap every 6 mins, so the times of his laps are:
6, 12, 18, 24, 30,.....
The second runner completes a lap every 8 mins, so the times of his laps are:
8, 16, 24, 32, 40,....
As you can see, the first number in common is 24 mins, this is when they will both reach the starting point at the same time after they start running.
The 6 min guy will be on his 4th lap, the 8 min guy will be on his 3rd.
