What's Euler Numerical Method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler_method

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

oh step size thing

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

basically u know one value and u use tiny delta h or delta x to approximate another one

yeah, watching lec 2, trying to make sense of what this guy is saying

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

it's like approximating area under a curve using rectangles, but in this case it's approximating the length of the curve using slopes

bahrom7893 help me!

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

I did a project on this in 12th grade

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U have y' =f(x,y), y(x_0)=y_0 Take x_0 and Y_0 = y_0 as start values, choose a step size h, set i =0 Do x_(i+1) and do Y_(i+1) = Y_i + h*f(x_i,Y_i) Increase i by 1, go back to x_(i+1)
