Write an equivalent expression using radical notation. (a^2b^2)^1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt[3]{a^2b^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the same as saying the third root of a^2*b^2. Anything raised to an exponent of 1/x is really the xth root of what is being raised. So if you have (a^2b^2)^1/2, this is the square root of a^2b^2. If this helps, please give a medal. Please visit my website, http://www.tutorsean.net for free math videos.
