which is the smallest cell in a humanbody?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The smallest cells in the human body are the Granule/Golgi neurons in the granular layer (innermost layer of grey matter) of Cerebellum. Human Granule Cell is present in the cerebellum, hippocampus, olfactory bulb (relays smell information to the brain) and the cerebral cortex – and is 4-4.5 micrometers.

maybe the espermatozoide???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thrombocytes (platelets) are smaller at 2-3 micrometers, but they do not have a nucleus and many people consider them to be cell fragments. still, thought they deserved to be mentioned.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are the fragments how can u cosider it a cell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have a doubt in erythrocytes but somewhere it is not mention that it is the smallest cel. wat u say.......????????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

espermatozoide

acc. to nicholas he was sayin dat gametes are not the smallest cell... by sain Typically the RBC (Red Blood Cell or Red Blood Corpuscle to be exact) is used as the standard measurement for cell size in the human body. Normal RBC size typically ranges from 4.5um - 8.5um. where as The smallest cell is not the human sperm. The human sperm including flagellum (tail) is approximately 25um. The head of the sperm is on average 5um-6um.
