If 3-4y=5x-6, then
What exactly do you have to do? Convert to slope intercept or solve for x or y?
idk im doing a practice test and i dont know how to approach it
If 3-4y=5x-6, then y = (sorry thats the rest of the question)
Ahhh.. ok so that'd be slope intercept form
in this case, you would just rearrange the equation to isolate y
y=-5/4x+9
Do you need me to go over the steps to get that?
haha yeah i dont know how to do it
Ok so let's take the equation 3-4y=5x-6 we want to isolate y so we'll start by subtracting 3 from both sides and come up with -4y=5x-9
now we need to get y alone still so we'll divide both sides by -4 and we'll come up with y=-5/4x-9/4
I'm sorry, my previous answer was wrong, I forgot to divide 9 by -4, good thing we went through the steps :D
Wow.. sorry again lol y=-5/4x+9/4
haha no problem but yeah thats true. i just remembered how to do those steps. is it fully solved now or is there more solving?
why would it be negative?
No, that will be your final.. y=-5/4x+9/4
Why would what be negative?
why negative?
the 5
because we had to divide it by -4 so the whole fraction of (5/4) would be negative
ok thank you so much!!! i just signed up for this so is that all i do is (medal given)?
You are very welcome, yes, if you wish you can give medals for good answers and you can also become someone's fan.. that's about it :)
did both thank you!
