Since this is going to be a relatively short paper, pick a philosopher from the Hellenistic (Greek) period, Medieval period (400-1400B.C.), and the early-modern period (1500-1800B.C.), and compare their ways of thought/reasoning. If it's the epistemology/metaphysical aspect you're having trouble with, then try looking at the question from this angle, Epistemology: What did each philosopher try to learn, was he focused on one specific thing, or did he try and learn about a bunch of different things? Metaphysical: Metaphysics is a pretty abstract philosophy, so it's hard to nail down a definite description. But, basically, what did your philosopher think about the world? Was he a nihilist? Did he believe in an after-life?
