How do I solve y (as an integer or fraction)? sqrt y+2 -6= 4 (the sqrt only goes over y+2, just didnt know how to write that out on here) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 6 from both sides of the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, add six :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then subtract 2 on both sides leaving you with sort y = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*sqrt y = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then square both sides of the equation => y = 64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome!! =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm out, good luck with the rest :-)

Thanks :)
