Could this sentence be regarded as ungrammatical? That is, could the use of “already” in combination with “three times since 2005” be deemed to be ungrammatical?

no its hard to explain but its fine, the sentence is not redundant and is gramitcally correct

The sentence is grammatically correct, but I do think it would read better without the word "already".  Some issues in writing are not about grammar, but about flow and sound.

Yes, it would be more poetic without it.
