i need help solving : use the function, f(x)= {x^2-2, x>=2 5-x, x<2} to find the x-values (if any) for which f(x) is not continuous

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only way for it not to be continuous is at x = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and it is not continuous there since \[2^2-2=2\] but \[5-2=3\] and since they are not the same it is not continuous
