You need to calculate the Area of the square using the following formula A=L^2 In this case is a square so all sides have the same Length. You will also need to calculate the area of the half circle inside the square. The area of a FULL circle is given by the formula A=Pi*r^2 but we only have HALF a circle so we divide by the Area by two A/2=(Pi*r^2)/2 Once you have the Area of both figures (the half circle and the square) subtract one from the other. With that you could establish a probability dividing the area of the half circle from the total area. Remember that in this case the total area is equal to the area of the square.
