A rectangular field is 30 feet wide and is enclosed by 210 feet of fencing. What is the area of the field in square feet?

Well, if we know that the width of the field is 30 ft, that means that two sides of the rectangle are 30 ft, or in total 60 feet. Right, b/c a rectangle has two equal vertical sides and two equal horizontal sides. So if we subtract 60 from 210 we get: 150. Now since we know that we have to have two other sides that are of equal lenght, we simply divide 150/2 which equals 75. So, we now know that we have a rectangle with a lenght of 75 and a widht of 60. The area of a rectangle is l*w or lenght *witdh. So 75*60=Area
